For any college student, the Placement year is the most crucial year. It is the finishing chapter and that time of your 4-year journey that your hard work is bound to pay off. Many big companies will visit your campus.

It is now up to you to grab the opportunity and live life king-size or simply spend your time unproductively. Please try to take away as much as you can from this piece of work. This article targets the IT or generally speaking the coding companies.

Since we are in the month of June, so most of the colleges are having their summer vacations. It is the best time that you can devote to your studies.7-8 hrs a day will pull the trigger for you.

One coding language and knowledge of Data structures is a must to be able to clear the placement rounds for the same profile. Coding language can be any like java, C++, JavaScript, Python, etc. Similarly, for data structures and algorithms, you should be familiar with concepts like Merging, Graph traversal, Linked List, Stacks and queues, etc.

There are 4 things that should be your prime focus to prepare for the upcoming placement season.

        1. Data Structures and Algorithms-

For big companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft if you wish to apply you should

a sound knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms. All these companies usually

have 6 rounds to judge a particular candidate. In at least 5 of the rounds, you will ask

questions related to data structures and algorithms.

The best plan of action for you to take is to devote at least 1.5 months of rigorous

practice to DSA. This will not only improve your skills but will also give you confidence

and you will be able to crack any Tech Campus placement with it.

         2. 4 Theory Subjects-

  1. OOPS(Object Oriented Programming Language)

  2. DBMS(Data Base Management System)

  3. OS(Operating System)

  4. Computer networking

The basic knowledge of these subjects can be furnished from your class 10 or 12

textbooks. If not you can either visit  GFG or SO  to brush up on your concepts.

        3. Projects-

Projects form the most integral part of your selection process. A good project gives

the interviewer a hint that you are serious about getting into the company. So your

first impression is the project work that you showcase. Make sure it is worth the

                 position you are applying for.

Generally, these project ideas make up most of the student’s PROJECTS resume

                 section.

              1. Web Development

              2. App Development

              3. Machine Learning

              4. Blockchain Development

           4. Resume-

The Last thing that you need to present, apart from yourself is your resume. Your

Resume should include only your best works. Remember a recruiter on average

gives only 7 seconds to a resume. Make sure to check it and re-check it with your

                 friends.

With all that said I wish each of you all the very best to each person out there

                 preparing for his college placements.

Remember the saying-

     Ever Tried,

     Ever Failed,

     No Matter,

    Try Again,

    Fail Again,

    Fail Better.
