XAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria - Details

XAT 2020 will be conducting on 05th January 2020 by XLRI Jamshedpur. XLRI and XAT Eligibility Criteria both are same.XAT 2020 has the basic of eligibility criteria that the candidate needs only to pass the Bachelor’s Degree.

XAT is national test conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur across the country.XAT 2020 will be conducting online in a single session. XAT is being used by XLRI and other 10 XAMI (Xavier Associate Member Institutes) and apart from that 150 business schools are also accepting the XAT Score for admission into MBA Programme.

For past 60 years, XAT is being conducted by XLRI and accepts only XAT Score for their admission process. But candidates have to apply for both of them separately .First they have to apply for XAT 2020 and XLRI.

XAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria – Key Points

Degree Requirement- Candidates must hold Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 3 years recognised by university.

Final Year Student – Candidate who is studying in final year can apply for XAT 2020.

Minimum Marks Requirement - There is no minimum percentage of marks required for XAT 2020.

Age Requirement – There is no age barrier for applying for XAT 2020.And there is no age restriction for applying XLRI as well.

XAT 2020 and XLRI 2020 Eligibility CriteriaXAT 2020 and XLRI are sharing same eligibility criteria. Following the roadmap of XAT eligibility criteria, XLRI also does not impose minimum marks restriction in applying for the PGDM course.

XAT 2020 Exam Eligibility for NRIs: It is mandatory for domestic candidates to appear for XAT 2O20 to take admission in XLRI and other XAMI Members for the batch 2020-22.But for NRI and Foreign Candidates are relaxed as they may apply through their valid GMAT Scores.

XAT 2020

XAT 2020 Registration process has started from 23rd August 2019 and will end on 30 November 2019.XAT Exam has been conducting since last 60 years by XLRI Jamshedpur.XAT 2020 is one of important exam for taking admission into Management Programme XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, XIMB, TAPMI, XIME and other 150 MBA colleges in India.

The date for XAT 2020 exam has been scheduled on 05th January 2020. XLRI plans to open its new campus in Delhi-NCR for the academic session 2020-22; classes for two sections of PGDBM Program will commence from June 2020. This year XAT will accept applications from aspirants for not only the Jamshedpur campus but also for XLRI, Delhi-NCR campus subject to the formal approval from AICTE.

XLRI will be conducting in online mode. For taking admission into XLRI, XAT 2020 is the mandatory exam .Candidate has to apply separately for XAT 2020 and then XLRI.

XAT 2020 - Registration Process

XAT is an online exam conducted by XLRI for taking admission into business programme.XAT is computer based exam in single session once in a year. XAT 2020 will be conducted on Sunday, January 05, 2020. XLRI conducts test on behalf of the XAMI.XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for the admission.

Registration Fees of XAT 2020

  • Without late fee – Rs. 1700/-
  • With Late fee - Rs. 2000/-
  • Candidates interested in XLRI programmes needs to pay an additional fee of Rs. 500/- each.
  • Indian Candidate only for GMP through GMAT fee – Rs. 2,500/-
  • NRI and Foreign for one or more programme fee - Rs. 5,000/

Procedure of XAT and XLRI Registration


  1. Visit www.xatonline.in and click on “Register for XAT 2020” enter Name, Date of Birth, Contact details and Email-id. A system generated XAT ID and Password will be communicated to you through Email/SMS. Candidate should note down the XAT ID and Password for future communication.
  2. In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND NEXT” tab. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify the same before the final submission.
  3. Candidates are advised to fill the form carefully and verify the details before the final submission. No changes will be entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.
  4. Candidate’s Name / Father’s Name / Mother’s Name etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets/ Identity proof. Any change/ alteration found may disqualify the candidature. Candidates can proceed to Upload Photo & Signature.
  5. Candidates can proceed to fill other details of the Application Form.
  6. Candidate interested for XLRI Programme(s) can apply through XAT or GMAT.
  7. Select XAT TEST City. Test City preference can be edited only once before November 30, 2019.
  8. Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT .
  9. Modify details, if required, and click on ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.
  10. Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed for payment. Click on ‘Submit’ button



Important Points to be remembered while applying:

  1. Visit www.xatonline.in and click on “Register for XAT 2020” Once you complete filling the Basic Information, XAT ID and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
  2. Candidates should note down their XAT ID and Password.
  3. An Email & SMS indicating the XAT ID and Password will also be sent.


  • Please quote your email and mobile number (provided during the registration) and XAT ID for all future communication
  • Please ensure that you provide a valid email id and mobile number.
  • Please ensure that you use your personal email address only as your primary email address in the application.
  • Please access your emails regularly and ensure that your inbox is accessible.
  • Please note that the XAT ID and Password gives you an individual login on www.xatonline.in and on frequent intervals, you need to check for mails from XAT & other Associated institutes.

XAT will be conducting on 05th January 2020 .Registration process for the same is going on and will continue till 30th November 2019 without late fees. And if candidates due to some reason doesn’t get registered himself before 30th November 2019, can register up to 07th December 2019  with late fees of Rs 300/- extra whereas registration fees for XAT 2020 is Rs. 1700. XAT is conducted by XLRI on behalf of XAMI Members .But along with that 150 colleges are also accepting XAT scores for admission process into their business programme. XLRI only accepts XAT Score Card for their admission procedure into business programme.

XAT is conducted online in duration of 180 minutes .XAT is conducted by XLRI for taking participation into admission process of XLRI and other XAMI Members .XAT is being conducted annually. Candidates can apply for more than programmes in XLRI by paying Rs 300 for each programme without late fees.

XAT 2020 Exam consist of 4 Sections:

  • Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR)
  • Decision Making (DM)
  • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI)
  • General Knowledge (GK)

XAT Exam Pattern 2020 - Percentile Calculation: Only 3 portions in XAT test are considered to figure the XAT percentile score and XAT merit list for exam. GK won't be incorporated for percentile include in XAT test structure.

No Sectional Time Limit - XAT Pattern 2020 does not have sectional time limit to solve the question paper. Candidate can attempt any question from any of the three sections within the overall time limit.
