If you are a general candidate you will have to get at least 95.5(Cutoff changes every year) to get call from New and Baby IIM.
For IIMs A,B,C and more u have to have 99+ percentile with an outstanding academics not less than 95% each.
The competition is quite tough so the selection criteria is on hike year by year with a variation of upto 0.5 upwards every year
These criteria may shuffle each year as per the total scores of the students. But they do not shuffle drastically.
So if u dream to get into IIMs, get yourself prepared and don't worry if you get failure once or twice.
To get admission in IIMs for PGDBA program you have to hold a bachelor degree with atleast 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% incase of ST/SC). You need to appear CAT Examination to get admission in IIMs.
Using the CAT scores and previous academic or work credentials, each IIM prepares a rank list on the basis of a set of criteria (these criteria may change every year)
Applicants have to register to the CAT Exam with minimum 90 Percentile. Applicant must score at least 80 Percentile in each of the three sections of the CAT Exam.

Personal interview is something either make it or break it.So you have to be quite confident.
After all these procedures, if you crack all the levels, you will be sent a call letter.
For persuing MBA a student must have atleast 50% in his academics all over and if he comes from a reserved category then he has to have atleast 45% in his 10th, 12th, and Graduation respectively. He also should appear in any of the entrance exams conducted every year .
He has to complete his graduation before applying for MBA programme.
But for getting themself registered for the Entrance exams like CAT/MAT/XAT/UPTU ect he can fill them being in 3rd year of his graduation.
He has to qualify the entrance with the minimum cut-off then choose the college wisely according to his preference and score.
Many colleges conduct their own entrance exams so to get into them , student must appear to the entrance exam of the particular college. As soon as he qualifies he basic cut-off of the college , he will get a call and hence will be given a date for Personal Interview. Crack the interview and you are selected to join the course.
They are expected to complete course work, pass a comprehensive exam, and then do publication quality research of an international standard.
