BHU Receives Donations Under Pratidana Initiative; Launches 3 New Scholarships

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has received donations through its Pratidana initiative, allowing the institution to establish three new scholarships. These scholarships will support students in the Faculty of Education, Central Hindu Boys School, and Central Hindu Girls School.

Rahul Srivastava, a corporate leader based in Mumbai, has made a donation in honor of his maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather, and paternal aunt. Srivastava’s father retired from the Central Public Works Department as Additional Director General and later served as Advisor (Works) at IIT-Gandhinagar, contributing significantly to the development of its iconic campus. The university acknowledged Srivastava's donation in a recent press release, highlighting the impact of his family's legacy on higher education infrastructure and student support.

The Pratidana initiative aims to mobilize support from alumni and well-wishers to provide scholarships for meritorious students, need-based financial aid, enhance learning opportunities, and promote teaching excellence. By engaging the university's extensive network of alumni and supporters, the initiative seeks to build a sustainable framework for ongoing educational enrichment.

In addition to the scholarship program, BHU has announced the development of 15 new courses for the SWAYAM platform for the 2024 session. These courses, starting from July 22, will offer learners the chance to enhance their knowledge and skills in a wide array of subjects, including management, commerce, science, medicine, social sciences, humanities, and philosophy. The new courses are designed to meet the evolving needs and expectations of contemporary learners, providing flexible and accessible education options.

The introduction of these new courses aligns with BHU's commitment to expanding educational opportunities and ensuring that students have access to diverse and comprehensive learning experiences. The university's efforts to innovate in both traditional and online educational spaces reflect its dedication to fostering academic excellence and addressing the varied interests of its student body.
