its Largest Executive MBA Batch with 200 Participants
The induction ceremony for the 11th
batch of IIM Kozhikode's Executive
Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Management at the Kochi Campus was held
today, marking a record with 200 participants for the 2024-2026 academic year.
Dr. Aravind Srinivasan, Chief Medical Officer and Director of Projects at
Aravind Eye Care System, was the Chief Guest, with Director Prof. Debashis
Chatterjee presiding over the event. The ceremony took place at the main IIM
Kozhikode campus, with faculty, staff, and the new cohort in attendance.
Established in 2013 under the vision
of Prof. Chatterjee, the Kochi Campus has grown steadily. The current EPGP 11
batch, the largest at the satellite campus to date, has an average work
experience of 8.5 years and includes four international participants (two from
Saudi Arabia, one from Kuwait, and one from Germany). Female candidates make up
nearly a quarter of the group, with 24% representation. The program caters to
participants from across India, with 73% coming from 18 states and union
territories outside Kerala. To accommodate diverse needs, the program is
offered in various formats: one physical weekend cohort and two weekday online
cohorts.
The cohort represents a mix of
industries, with a significant presence from IT/ITES (35%), Manufacturing
(12%), Healthcare and Education (8%), and Banking and Financial Services (7%).
Additionally, there are participants from the government sector, public sector
undertakings (PSUs), logistics, supply chain, and entrepreneurship.
During his keynote address, Dr.
Srinivasan highlighted the importance of society in shaping individual
character and encouraged the new cohort to contribute positively to society. He
emphasized mentorship, social intelligence, discipline, and the value of deep
observation in personal and professional life. He urged the students to break
barriers and embrace creativity in their pursuits.
Prof. Chatterjee, in his remarks,
thanked Dr. Srinivasan for his presence and shared IIM Kozhikode's Vision 2047:
Globalizing Indian Thought, which is based on values like authenticity,
sustainability, and fulfillment. He encouraged the cohort to align their work
with a sense of purpose and stressed the role of "reflective
consciousness" in achieving long-term success. Prof. Chatterjee expressed
confidence in IIMK's role in fostering a new and resurgent India, inviting the
participants to engage with the institute's broader mission.
Prof. Joshy Joseph, Chairperson of IIMK Kochi Campus Programmes, introduced the guests and the incoming cohort, while Prof. Kamal Kishore Sharma gave the vote of thanks, concluding a vibrant induction ceremony.
