IIM Ranchi has come up with a unique Management Development Programme (MDP) that is all set to transform the principals and the vice-principals from the PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) of the Patna region. This five-day program will take place from November 19-23, 2024, and it aims to empower school leaders with knowledge and skills of current school challenges and opportunities for development.
Transformational Leadership
The first session of the conclave featured an address by IIM Ranchi Director Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava on the ideas that would chart the shape of the future of education.
He also noted that the MDP is meant to equip the participants with relevant knowledge that will enable them to execute innovation strategies, engage and motivate multiple stakeholders, and champion positive change agendas.
Key Focus Areas of the Programme
At IIT Kharagpur, the MDP team is headed by the Dean of Executive Education, Professor Amit Sachan, and Programme Directors, Professors Santosh Kumar Prusty and Krishna Kumar Dadsena, and it covers several important areas.
One of these is the incorporation of new technologies in learning, especially incorporating artificial intelligence (AI). Further, the program will also look at the implementation of NEP in curriculum development and the possibility of creating an entrepreneurial culture within school communities.
Practical, 'Hands-on' Learning
The program is very practical since it involves participation, exercises, simulations, case studies, and group discussions. Stakeholders will be empowered with the skill sets required to craft high performance, create impactful change, and establish strong school systems that will cope with the dynamic demand for learning systems. This MDP seeks to enable headteachers to foster positive and significant changes in their respective schools for students and teachers.
