The Indian Institute
of Technology Delhi (IITD) is set to admit students to its Abu Dhabi campus
using scores from the JEE Advanced 2024.
Successful candidates can apply via a dedicated portal: admissions.abudhabi.iitd.ac.in/application/caet-2024. This initiative
marks the launch of IITD's first undergraduate (UG) programmes in Abu Dhabi,
commencing in the 2024-25 academic year. Each of the two new UG courses will
enroll 30 students, with 10 seats per discipline reserved for JEE Advanced
qualifiers and the remaining 20 seats filled through the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET), a new exam tailored for
the UAE.
Admission
Process
The CAET,
administered by the JEE Office at IIT
Delhi, is scheduled for June 23, 2024, across multiple UAE centers It is
available to UAE residents, encompassing nationals, expatriates, and
international students. Registrations can be completed on the portal until June
10, 2024.
Students who achieve qualifying ranks in JEE Advanced 2024 can apply for admission to IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi
via a separate portal, which will be accessible after the announcement of the
JEE Advanced results. Seat allocation will be managed via this portal for both
JEE Advanced and CAET routes, independent of the JoSAA portal.
Fees and
Benefits for JEE Advanced-Qualified Students
JEE
Advanced-qualified students will pay fees equivalent to those at IIT
Delhi's main campus, with remaining fees waived. They will also receive a
monthly stipend of AED 2000, waived accommodation charges for double occupancy
hostels, subsidized food, and an annual travel allowance of AED 4000.
Additionally, medical insurance and other welfare provisions will be covered.

The Computer Science and Engineering UG programme at IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus aims to provide
students with a solid foundation in theoretical and practical aspects of
computing, including computer architecture, software development, data
analysis, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. This comprehensive
curriculum prepares students to meet the challenges of the digital age.
The Energy Engineering UG programme focuses on sustainable
energy solutions, integrating engineering principles, environmental science,
and policy. Students will study renewable energy sources, energy storage
technologies, and sustainable energy systems, contributing to a more
sustainable future.
