family through the Akkineni International Foundation, honors the legacy of the
iconic actor Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao
(ANR), a trailblazer in Indian cinema.
This award aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding
talent in the fields of acting and performing arts, fostering innovation and
creativity among emerging artists. The award will encourage a new generation to
strive for excellence, helping to promote India’s rich cultural heritage.
Expressing his gratitude, Prof BS Murty, Director of IIT
Hyderabad, thanked the Akkineni International Foundation for this honor. He
emphasized the award’s significance in strengthening ties between cultural
heritage and academic excellence.
Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao, fondly remembered as ANR, was a legendary figure in Telugu cinema. Over his long and illustrious career, ANR left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. His contributions earned him several prestigious awards, including the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
