The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has taken a bold leap toward innovation and sustainability by launching two new academic schools in collaboration with the Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta Family Foundation (MFF). These schools will offer cutting-edge courses in sustainability, biomedical sciences, and artificial intelligence—making IIT Indore a future-ready academic powerhouse.

🌱 Sustainability School to Tackle Climate and Development Goals

Under the direction of Prof. Suhas Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, the Mehta Family School of Sustainability will launch India’s first undergraduate program combining Environmental Economics with Sustainable Engineering. Students will gain a multidisciplinary education blending engineering, economics, and environmental science.

Academic Roadmap:

·         UG Program: BTech in Environmental Economics & Sustainable Engineering

·         PG Programs: 3 specialized postgraduate courses

·         Goal: Graduate 400+ students and train over 1,000 professionals in 10 years

🧬 Biomedical School Focuses on AI, Devices & Clinical Exposure

The Mehta Family School of Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering introduces a forward-thinking curriculum at the intersection of biology, data science, and engineering.

·         BTech Program: Focused on medical devices, clinical data analytics, and AI in healthcare

·         PG Programs: Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices
