IIT Madras awards over 3,000 degrees, including 529 PhDs,
during its 62nd convocation with Ajit Doval and Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam as chief
guests.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)
marked a significant milestone on July 11, 2025, as it hosted its 62nd
convocation ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments of over 3,000 students.
A total of 3,227 students were awarded degrees, while the
grand total of degrees conferred — including joint and dual degrees — stood at 3,661.
Notably, 529 students received PhDs, including 10 international joint PhDs in
collaboration with institutions in countries like Australia, Singapore, France,
and Germany.
