Marking a significant milestone in its journey of
academic excellence and inclusivity, IIT Mandi has welcomed its largest-ever
undergraduate batch for the 2025–26 academic session. A total of 592
students have been admitted this year, up from 514 last year — a clear sign of
the institute’s growing appeal and educational impact.
Among the new entrants, 121 are female students, a
notable jump from 96 in 2024. This rise in female enrollment highlights IIT
Mandi’s commitment to gender equity in STEM education and its effective
outreach initiatives.

🏫 Orientation Day Highlights
The grand Orientation Programme, held on campus, was
inaugurated by Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi. In
his keynote address, he welcomed the students and emphasized the growing
diversity and inclusiveness in the student body.
“Welcoming our largest undergraduate batch is a proud
moment for the institute. The increase in enrollment—especially of
women—reflects our consistent efforts in making IIT Mandi an inclusive and
empowering space for academic excellence,” said Prof.
Behera.
He also shared that the Class of 2025–26 spans 13
different courses, including the recently launched Integrated MBA (IMBA),
along with popular streams such as Computer Science & Engineering, Data
Science & AI, and Microelectronics & VLSI.
