Explore how IIT Roorkee’s partnership with NAMTECH bridges academia and industry and experiential learning to develop future-ready engineers.

IIT Roorkee ties up with New Age Makers Institute of Technology to boost experiential learning for Engineering Graduates. Arcelor Mittal and Nippon Steel India have jointly announced this initiative as part of their CSR activities to help propel the manufacturing and engineering sectors in India by connecting academia with industry needs.

Strengthening of Training, Research and Innovation

By joining hands, IIT Roorkee and NAMTECH will be able to contribute significantly towards ongoing advancements in advanced manufacturing and the introduction of sustainable practices. This way, the parties have a great potential to augment training, research, and collaboration for the development of engineers for Industry 4.0.

Industrial Professional Engagement Program

NAMTECH is coming up with the Industrial Professional Engagement Program to benefit IIT Roorkee students and provide them with practical experience in actual industrial environments.

Students at NAMTECH will be exposed to an internship opportunity at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Not only that, the partnership also involves the execution of research activities and the development of faculty and Executive courses to enhance professionals’ knowledge in the course.

Commitment to Sustainability

This partnership complements the Indian government’s call to action – ‘Make in India’ – by encouraging sustainable manufacturing operations. Prof. K. K. Mr. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, identified the collaboration as an opportunity to develop future engineers with a technical and sustainability orientation.

Arunkumar Pillai, the Director-General of NAMTECH, focused on rapidly establishing an academic environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

This association is a clear step forward in aligning with the market demand for graduates, developing talent, and advancing the cause for a cleaner and environmentally conscious India.
