A Journey Fueled by Dreams, Discipline &
Determination
In the heart of Tamil Nadu's Tenkasi district, a
rare and inspiring story unfolded—where a mother and daughter became NEET

side.
At 49, Amuthavalli Manivannan,
a practising physiotherapist, rewrote her destiny by clearing NEET 2025
alongside her 18-year-old daughter, M. Samyuktha Krupalini, a CBSE student.
What began as a solo pursuit for the daughter soon turned into a dual mission
driven by mutual inspiration.

👩👧 How It All Started: A Dream Reignited
Amuthavalli had always dreamed of
becoming a doctor, a goal sidelined by life's responsibilities. Watching her
daughter prepare for NEET reignited that dream. With determination and
the support of her family, especially her lawyer husband, she picked up the
books again after three decades.
“I was inspired by my daughter. Watching her prepare made
me believe it was now or never,” said Amuthavalli.
💡 Preparation Strategy at Home
Their home became a learning hub:
·
Shared Study Sessions: Daughter explained
concepts aloud, helping her mother grasp new topics.
·
Old Meets New: Amuthavalli revised outdated
concepts using her daughter’s textbooks.
·
Mutual Motivation: Late-night discussions and
doubt-clearing sessions bonded them further.
🎓 Taking Different Paths, Together in Spirit
Though united by preparation, both chose different
colleges for their MBBS journey. Samyuktha expressed her
desire to study elsewhere to challenge herself further.
“I want to compete in the general category and study
outside the state,” she said confidently.
🩺 A Dream Reborn After 30 Years
Amuthavalli's medical ambition was once
buried under financial constraints. Years later, with strong family support and
an iron will, she finally earned her medical seat.
The counselling session for special categories, including
PwD and 7.5% state reservation, was held on July 30 in Chennai, where she
secured her spot.
