PM Modi opens IIS Mumbai to create an industry-ready workforce with courses in automation, AI, robotics, and EV technology, supporting India's Skill Capital vision.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai, established through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Tata IIS (a Section 8 company under Tata Trusts). This cutting-edge institute aims to produce an industry-ready workforce, fully equipped for Industry 4.0 through advanced technological and hands-on training.

The IIS Mumbai will offer specialized courses in high-demand fields such as Advanced Industrial Automation & Robotics, Electric Vehicle Battery Specialization, and Additive Manufacturing, preparing students for industries like AI, robotics, and EV manufacturing. It boasts state-of-the-art laboratories developed in collaboration with over 15 global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring practical, real-world experience for students.

Additionally, the institute will launch short-term certification programs in partnership with industry leaders like Fanuc India for Industrial Robotics and SMC India for Industrial Automation. Hostel facilities are also planned to enhance the learning experience.

This new institution reflects the Prime Minister's vision of positioning India as the global Skill Capital, offering opportunities for Indian youth to excel in both domestic and international markets.

In conjunction with this, PM Modi also inaugurated the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Pune, aimed at improving education governance through data-driven insights and AI technology. VSKs are now operational in 30 districts across India, revolutionizing the nation's educational system through real-time performance tracking.

This inauguration marks a pivotal moment in India's journey towards a future-ready workforce and improved education outcomes nationwide.
