Banaras Hindu University is one of the prestigious university situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was created under the Parliamentary legislation -  B.H.U. Act 1915. 

The Air Field of the campus was started for military training for flying during the second  world war. Another campus of the university at Barkachha , in Mirzapur District.

The university comprises 3 Institutes, 14 Faculties 140 Departments, 4 Inter- Displinary Centres  a constituent college for women's and 3 Constituents Schools, spanning a vast range of subjects pertaining to all branches of humanities, social science, technology, medicine ,science, fine arts and performing arts. It has 6 centres of Advanced Studies, 10 Departments under Special Assistance Programme and a large number of specialized Research Centres.

Admission Process UG Courses / UG Professional Courses / UG Professional Courses/ UG Vocational Courses Through UET  2020

The Banaras Hindu University conducts Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) for admission to various Postgraduate Courses for the Session 2020-21

Admission will be on merit in the UET (Undergraduet Entrance Test) subject to fulfilment of eligibility requirements of the Course for which the candidate has applied. Courses have been divided into “General”, “Professional” and “Vocational” and are conducted in the respective Faculties.

Along with some of the Courses are also conducted in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU (MMV), Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, (RGSC) Mirzapur and the Colleges admitted to the Privileges of the University in Varanasi city, namely, Arya Mahila Post Graduate College, Chetganj (AMPGC); Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kamachha (VKM); Vasanta College for Women, Rajghat (VCW) and DAV Post Graduate College, Ausanganj (DAVPGC).

The Undergraduate Examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode Only. The Computer Based Test (CBT) would be conducted in 200 cities.

The complete application process for admission in various courses during the academic session 2020-21 will be done online .The candidates needs to register on the Entrance Test portal of BHU and fill up the Application form Online.
