In 1973, the Department of Business Economics, under the umbrella of the prestigious University of Delhi, ushered in Masters Program in Business Economics baptized simply as MBE. It offered a unique blend of theoretical excellence flavored with the ground realities of the Business World. “Change is the only constant” is an adage that the Department acknowledges. To that end, it kept updating itself as per requirement culminating with the introduction of MBA in Business Economics which replaced the earlier MBE program in 2015.

An eclectic and erudite group of faculty, researchers, and professionals, with their vast pool of managerial expertise, gives the Department a distinctive edge and an exalted stature. Fees:
  1. Currently the annual fee is Rs.12376.00/- (with additional Rs.50/- as enrolment fees for non - DU students) payable at the time of admission.
  2. The application fee is Rs. 1,100/- (Rs.600 for SC/ST/PC candidates).

Admission Process

The Admission Procedure comprises of the following procedure:

  1. Short-listing is done on the basis of candidates’ CAT percentile and marks scored in Class X and Class XII Examinations.
    Candidates with the following undergraduate degrees receive extra weightage:
    • B. Com. (Hons.)
    • B. A. (Hons.) (Economics)
    • B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics)
    • BBE
    • BBS/BMS
    • BFIA/BBA (FIA)
  2. The following weightage-system is followed for short-listing for GD/PI:
    • CAT Percentile - Weightage – 75%
    • Marks obtained in Class-X - Weightage – 10%
    • Marks obtained (best of four) in Class-XII - Weightage – 7.50%
    • Marks obtained in Mathematics/Business Mathematics in Class-XII Examination Weightage – 2.50%
    • Candidates with the above mentioned Graduate Degrees - Weightage – 5%
  3. Final selection is based on CAT Scores, Marks scored in GD and PI, and Marks Scored in Class X and Class XII Examinations.
  4. The following weightage-system is followed for short-listing for final selection:
    • CAT Score - Weightage – 60%
    • Marks obtained in Class-X - Weightage – 5%
    • Marks obtained in Class-XII - Weightage – 5%
    • Marks obtained in Group Discussion - Weightage – 7.50%
    • Marks obtained in Personal Interview - Weightage – 20%
    • Candidates with the above mentioned Graduate Degrees - Weightage – 2.50%
  5. Please note, while academic background is given weightage as indicated above, there is no separate weightage for work experience etc.

Eligibility:

The minimum eligibility requirements for MBA (Business Economics) Programme is: Graduate (under 10 plus 2 plus 3) in any discipline with at least 50% marks, from the University of Delhi or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics/Business Mathematics at Class XII level. Students appearing in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree examination can also apply.

Set on land spread across 28 hectares (69 acres) of green, hilly terrain, the campus building blends attractively with the natural surroundings. With spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, they are well-equipped with state of the art audio-visual facilities. The octagonal-shaped classrooms provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions. The seminar rooms and S.P. Jain Auditorium provide avenues for learning beyond the classroom. Stalwarts from industry and academia often take to the stage to share their wisdom with the students.

We have a fully air-conditioned cafeteria and campus also houses a health clinic that is well equipped with emergency services. Keeping in mind the all-round development of students, they are encouraged to explore their athletic skills and hobbies. A selection of outdoor and indoor sports facilities such as badminton courts and table tennis helps students to unwind during their hectic schedules.

The campus is lush green; you can’t miss out on the Delhi University’s Library, which is top-notch. Hostel facilities are available but limited.PGs/Flats can easily be found outside campus (Satya Niketan, Motibagh, Anand Niketan etc).
