The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-Under Graduate, formerly known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses and dental courses in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. Approx 14 Lakhs students took NEET in 2019; NEET is the single most popular medical entrance exam in India, students are determined based on their ranking or NEET score, whether they will get MBBS or BHMS or BAMS or Dental, around 400 medical colleges and 130 Dental colleges accepts NEET. The exam is conducted by National Testing agency. Prior to 2019, the test was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt. Ltd. Headquarter in the USA.
NEET is the most famous and almost accepted by every medical college entrance test for medical of India. NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges in 2013. However, many colleges and institutes had taken a stay order and conducted private examinations for admission to their MBBS and BDS courses. NEET-UG is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India.

NEET-Syllabus
NEET syllabus comprises of 45 questions of Physics, 45 questions of Chemistry and 90 questions of Biology. National Testing Agency (NTA) is the authority responsible for releasing NEET 2020 syllabus for the medical entrance examination. NEET-Eligibility Criteria
Every year NTA issue eligibility criteria for the NEET exam, these eligibility criteria has to meet by every medical aspirant who seeks admission in any government and private medical college all over India. In the last few years the NTA has introduced many changes in the eligibility clause in terms of alteration of the upper age limit and allowing students with biology as an additional subject to appear for NEET. These eligibility criteria are based on certain parameters which are to be fulfilled for every candidate who are filling the form for NEET.
• Age Limit- Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2020, with no upper limit for taking up the exam, For NEET 2020 all the candidates born on or before 31st December 2003 are eligible.
• Minimum Qualification- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board. Candidates who are appearing for the class 12 or equivalent exam are also eligible to apply for NEET 2020.
• Qualifying Marks for NEET- The marks are separate for each category and can be listed as under. The marks to be considered are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects.
UR - 50%,
OBC/SC/ST - 40%,
PWD – 45%
• Maximum Attempts-There is no limit as per NEET and National Testing Agency fir NEET-2020 for the number of attempts a candidate can take.
• Nationality- Nationality criteria too is a very important parameter in appearing for the NEET entrance, Candidates who are Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
NEET-Exam Details
The authority will conduct NEET 2020 on May 3 in pen and paper-based mode in 2546 exam centers across 155 cities in India. This year, NEET 2020 prospectus has been released in six different languages. Interested candidates can check the information brochure at the bottom of this article. The official NEET 2020 website i.e. ntaneet.nic.in has been activated by NTA on November 30, 2019, while the details will be updated soon. The details for NEET website is available below. From 2020, NEET will be the single entrance exam for all UG medical courses in the country including AIIMS and JIPMER. NEET 2020 admits card will be available on March 27 for candidates who have successfully filled the application.
NEET result will be declared on June 4, 2020 in online mode along with the final answer key and qualifying cutoff. NEET qualified candidates can apply for All India counseling conducted by MCI tentatively in June while counseling for state admissions will be thereafter. Number of Seats under NEET-2020 (Approx).
As per the orders of Honorable Supreme Court, there will be a single medical entrance exam all over India for admission into medical and dental colleges. The colleges will not be able to conduct their own medical entrance exam and thus all will accept students based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Score. All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is now known as NEET. The total number of seats offered under NEET is approx 45000 but according to medical council of India Using NEET scores about 75000 seats can be undertook, which is distributed accordingly. NEET is also for admission into 15% seats in government medical and dental colleges and in all private medical and dental colleges all over India.
