Overall: IIEST Shibpur ranked 17th out of 34 colleges in India in 2021, holding the top spot in West Bengal. In 2020, it was 19th out of 191 colleges and 18th out of 130 colleges in 2019, also securing the 2nd position in West Bengal.
B.Tech: The institute secured the 19th position out of 191 colleges in 2020 and the 18th position out of 130 colleges in 2019, maintaining its 2nd position in West Bengal.
NIRF Rankings:
Overall: IIEST Shibpur held the 66th rank out of 200 colleges in India in both 2022 and 2023, being 5th in West Bengal. In 2021, it was ranked 46th out of 200, maintaining the 5th position in the state.
Architecture: In 2023, it ranked 10th out of 30 colleges, securing the 2nd position in West Bengal, compared to the 6th position in 2022. In 2021, it was 9th out of 25 colleges.
B.Tech: It was ranked 35th out of 200 colleges in India in 2023, 40th out of 300 in 2022, and 27th out of 300 in 2021, securing the 3rd position in West Bengal consistently.

Architecture: IIEST Shibpur was ranked 18th out of 30 colleges in India in 2024 and 16th out of 30 in 2023.
Hostel:
IIEST Shibpur provides accommodation in 17 hostels, including two girls' hostels for undergraduate students and one girls' hostel for postgraduate and research scholars.
It became the first IIEST of the country effective from March 4, 2014.
