the MBA batch of IIM Calcutta in 2024, all students were placed and they
received very high international stipends up to Rs 6. 75 lakhs. The highest
ever number of internship offers made by 175 recruiters!
The summer placements of the 61st MBA batch of the
esteemed IIM Calcutta for the year
2024 have witnessed some records like all students getting internships and
highest stipend offered was at par with global standards i. e. ₹6. 75
lacs/month. 175 top recruiting companies provided internships on general
management profiles in such sectors as FMCG, Finance, Consulting, Technology
etc., using a combined format with faculty and industry mentors.
This year experienced an extremely tight job market
where five hundred seventy five students had to compete for five hundred sixty
four internship slots with an overall mean monthly stipend of approximately 1.
89 lacs; interestingly, median stood higher at Rs 2 lakhs making it a landmark
achievement by all standards for this institution! On the other hand, most
generous domestic package was Rs. Hence, only those who managed to fall within
top fifteen thousand got anything better than three hundred thousand as monthly
take-home pay.
Recruiters had an opportunity to interact with job
seekers through the placement process that is associated with certain features
like clustering and cohort methodologies as well as dream offer approach which
ensures mutual benefit from such interactions. “In today’s globalized scenario
