University Rankings 2025 reveal a significant reshuffle in the rankings of
India's top institutes, with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT
Delhi) climbing to the forefront among Indian institutions, surpassing IIT
Bombay for the first time.

IIT
Delhi has climbed to the 44th position regionally, up
from 46th last year, marking it as India's highest-ranked institution in Asia.
IIT
Bombay now holds the 48th rank, a drop from 40th, yet
maintains a strong presence internationally due to its reputation among global
academics and employers, ranking 27th and 16th, respectively, in these areas.
Other leading IITs
such as IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Kanpur have seen marginal declines, yet remain in the top tier
within the region.
