IIT Hyderabad has
commenced the application process for its Summer Undergraduate Research
Exposure (SURE) Internships in 2024, with key details shared on the
institution's official social media platform, X. The program offers 200
internship positions, including a dedicated allotment of 50 seats for female
candidates. Interested students can apply online from February 16, 2024, to
March 10, 2024, with the internship scheduled to run from May 15 to July 14, 2024.
According to the eligibility criteria outlined on the official
website, only students not currently enrolled at IIT Hyderabad are eligible to
apply. The specified candidate categories include first-year MSc students
(Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Biology), first-year MA students, 2nd/3rd Year
BTech./BDes students (All branches), and 3rd/4th Year Integrated BTech-MTech
program students. To be considered, applicants must rank among the top 20%
based on CGPA or percentage score in all previous years of study within their
discipline. Certification from the Head of the Institute/Principal is mandatory
during the application process. Full-time enrollment and commitment throughout
the internship, which spans a minimum of one month, are also prerequisites.
The selection process involves an initial screening of applications, followed by online interviews conducted by department/mentor faculty according to department preferences. Criteria for selection encompass outstanding academic performance, engagement in additional academic activities, participation or achievements in competitions such as Olympiads or National Talent Search Exams, and performance in the interview. Results are anticipated to be announced on the SRC website by April 15, 2024.
