IIT Hyderabad offers a unique BTech program in
Engineering Science designed to meet the evolving demands of industry and
research by providing students with a strong foundation in various fields. This
program opens doors to different specializations and provides a comprehensive
engineering education.
The
structure of the program is as follows:
First
2 Years (4 Semesters): Students complete basic courses in
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and various fields of engineering.
Last
2 Years (4 Semesters): Students specialize in a field of
their choice, with options including any branch of engineering—BioTech, Biomed,
Chemical, Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical,
Material Science—as well as disciplines like Chemistry, Design, Economics,
Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology. Note that the number of students moving
into a particular branch is limited to 10% of the batch strength.
The final degree awarded will be a B.Tech. in
Engineering Science with a specialization in the chosen field.
