emerging as the most sought-after branch in 2024. According to the Joint
Implementation Committee (JIC) report 2024, a total of 25,064 students
expressed interest in pursuing CSE at
IIT Delhi, marking a 14.8% increase compared to the previous year. This
surge in preference highlights the growing demand for cutting-edge tech
education at one of India's premier institutions.
Following closely behind CSE, the Electrical Engineering branch saw a 14% rise in student
interest, increasing from 19,064 in 2023 to 21,855 this year. Other top choices
among aspirants include Mechanical
Engineering (19,035 students), the four-year Mathematics and Computing program (18,760 students), and Electrical Engineering (Power and
Automation) (16,226 students).
